About Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur)

‘Yoga Karmashu Kaushalam’ is the slogan of the Kharagpur Indian Institute of Technology. This literally translates to “Yoga is excellence in reality,” effectively meaning that (true) yoga is doing your job well. This can be traced to the discourse with Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita by Sri Krishna. The quote urges man to gain equanimity in the broader sense of the Gita, for a mind of equanimity enables a man to shed disturbing thoughts of the consequences of his actions and focus on the task before him. Equanimity of karmic efforts is the root of perfection that leads to salvation.
